Flixplaner
Windows software for schools that builds timetables with AI, checks for conflicts and plans substitutions and team teaching.
What it does
Flixplaner generates school timetables automatically based on goals you define beforehand and checks for conflicts and implausible entries while you type. A swap function lets you move single lessons or whole subjects. For team teaching, for example in German as a second language or language support, an assistant shows suitable available teachers and takes their workload into account. When someone is absent, substitution planning looks for available staff for in-class, subject or room cover. You can export results as Excel, PDF, CSV or JSON. An online dashboard lets you publish timetables and substitution plans in the browser and plan cover from home.
Who it suits
School leaders and timetable planners at primary, secondary and vocational schools looking for Windows software with an annual licence that does not renew automatically. School authorities can request a written quote before buying.
Data protection for businesses
According to the vendor, data in the desktop software stays on your own computer. The vendor does not state where the online dashboard is hosted. The vendor does not mention a data processing agreement for the software. The vendor does not say whether inputs are used for AI training. Licences are per school with unlimited users; there are no separate business plans beyond that.
Limits
The software runs only on Windows 10 or later; there are no versions for macOS or mobile devices. After the ten-day trial it continues only in a restricted mode. The vendor does not explain in detail how importing from other planning programs works.
