01 · Problem
A shop owner offering picture framing and art restoration faced a classic consultation problem: customers bring in a picture, the owner lays various frame profiles and mats around it — but the spatial imagination just isn't there. How does this wide mat look? Which color works? And how will the finished, framed picture look on the wall in their own living room, kitchen or bedroom? Customers couldn't picture it. They walked away — the order never happened, even though they wanted it.
02 · Solution
vona built a native iOS app for the shop's iPad. The owner photographs the customer's picture along with the chosen frame profile and mat — the app uses AI to draw the frame all the way around the picture, sets it into the mat and shows the finished result in about 10 seconds. Mat color and width can be adjusted right in the app at any time and regenerated immediately. At the push of a button, the app then places the finished, framed picture into predefined room scenarios: living room, kitchen, bedroom. Wall color and lighting mood are freely adjustable — so the customer sees how the picture will look in their own home before even placing the order.
03 · Result
According to the owner, hardly any customers walk away for lack of imagination anymore. The AI-powered consultation on the iPad convinces right in the sales conversation: customers see their picture exactly as it will look on the wall at home — with the right frame, the matching mat, in their favorite color and in their usual lighting. The owner advises faster and with more focus, and from the owner’s experience, considerably more orders now come about.
